General Program Overview
What is the ShoSum Youth Golf Program?
The ShoSum Youth Golf Program is a premium, values-driven youth golf experience designed for boys and girls ages 8–11. The program combines competitive team golf, professional instruction, mental wellness training, and structured philanthropy. ShoSum Golf is built to teach young athletes how to compete with confidence, collaborate as teammates, and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
Who is the program designed for?
The program is initially open to boys and girls ages 8–11 with an interest in golf, teamwork, and personal growth. Scramble-style play ensures inclusivity, encouragement, and fun while still fostering competition.
Tournament Structure & Format
How many tournaments are there during the season?
In 2026, there are two qualifying tournaments during the season, followed by a year-end championship for qualifying teams. ShoSum Golf anticipates significant expansion in ages, participants, events, and regions in 2027 and beyond.
When and where are the qualifying tournaments held?
April 25, 2026 – Cimarron Golf Club Date TBD (2026) – An elite golf course in Southern California (to be announced)
What is the tournament format?
Each tournament is played in a scramble format: • Teams of four youth players • Boys and girls compete together • Every player hits each shot; the team selects the best shot and all players play from that position • Emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and shared success
How many holes are played?
Each qualifying tournament consists of a competitive scramble round appropriate for the age group and course setup, with yardages and pace designed to keep play engaging and positive.
Cost, Registration, and Waivers
What is the cost to participate?
The entry fee for the initial qualifying tournament is $475 per player.
What does the $475 entry fee include?
The entry fee includes: • Tournament entry and course access • Live virtual training sessions with golf professionals • Virtual mental health and performance coaching • On-site golf instruction during live events • Monthly philanthropic programming • Official ShoSum Golf swag bag • Eligibility to qualify for the Pebble Beach Championship
When is payment due?
Payment is due at the time of registration.
Is a waiver required?
Yes. All participants must submit a signed waiver and release at the same time the entry fee is paid. Participation is not permitted without a completed waiver.
Training, Coaching, and Development
What kind of golf training is provided?
Participants receive: • Live virtual sessions with golf professionals focusing on fundamentals, strategy, and course management • On-site instruction during tournament events, including drills and strategy discussions
What is the mental health and wellness component?
ShoSum Golf integrates mental performance and wellness coaching designed specifically for youth athletes. Sessions focus on: • Managing competition stress • Building confidence and resilience • Learning sportsmanship and emotional regulation • Appreciating teamwork and camaraderie
Philanthropy & Media Component
Is community service required?
Yes. Each team/participant is required to complete one hour of philanthropic or charitable activity per month.
How is philanthropy documented?
Participants will: • Record or document their charitable activities • Share content on their social media accounts (with parental supervision) This content may be featured in ShoSum Golf’s year-end mini-series, highlighting youth impact, service, and personal growth.
Why is philanthropy part of the program?
ShoSum Golf believes young athletes should learn that success includes giving back, leadership, and social responsibility—both on and off the course.
